JAE Woodworking specializes in custom hardwood flooring. We install unfinished hardwood flooring and sand and finish onsite. We also refinish existing hardwoods in order to restore their original beauty.
Refinish pre existing flooring:
Refinishing typically follows the same process as sanding and finishing on site. In most cases our craftsmen can rid old scratches and dings by our sanding process. In extreme cases we will have to tear up specific areas that have deep stains that a refinishing alone cannot remedy.
Install:
JAE specializes in installing solid, unfinished hardwood flooring. Unfinished hardwood flooring ensures there are zero micro bevels or gaps that prefinished flooring offers. Our product will be delivered to you in its raw state with no finish on them from a sustainable forestry certified mill. Our craftsmen install using up to date National Wood Floor Association guidelines to ensure your investment lasts a life time.
Sanding and finishing on site after installation:
After your unfinished wood floors are installed- the sanding begins. Gone are the old days of your home filled with dust. JAE has invested heavily into state of the art sanding equipment that is virtually dust free. Every piece of sanding equipment is connected to dust containment systems that have 1-3 HEPA filters on them.
After our sanding process is complete, we move on to finishing. Most of the colors and water based polyurethanes we offer dry in 2 hours. Meaning they can be walked on in socks 2 hours after our last coat. We do encourage you reintroduce your furniture and pets to return to your floors 3-5 days after our work is complete.
Wood flooring is an organic product. Because of this its not exempt from seasonal wood movement and will respond to moisture content of your home and relative humidity. It is very important to keep your home HVAC system consistent with the seasons.
